Vivacom and United Group donate 900,000 kunas to the Ministry of Health

Vivacom and United Group donate 900,000 kunas to the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Bulgaria, the telecom operator announced.

The funds will be transferred to the ministry’s donation account, which is open to providing assistance to emergency hospitals. A few days ago, the ministry announced a donation action to raise five million leva through DMS SOLIDARITY on short number 17777.

The amount donated by Vivacom and United Group covers almost 1/5 of the funds requested, which will help the department provide the most urgent needs for hospitals in the event of coronary virus infection.

United Group, a provider of telecommunications and media services in Southeast Europe, will make donations to address the disease in all countries where it operates. They will total $ 3 million, $ 1.2 million in cash and $ 1.8 million in medical equipment.

The Group operates in Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and northern Macedonia. In November 2019, the United Group was selected to buy Vivacom for 1.2 billion euros. The deal, which is one of the largest acquisitions in the region, is pending regulatory approval.
