This was announced by Rosen Zhelyazkov, Minister of Traffic, Information Technology and Communications, during a meeting with Doreen Bogdan-Martin, head of the Telecommunications Union’s Office for Telecommunication Development (ITU).

Doreen Bogdan-Martin is the first woman in leadership positions in the organization’s history. She talked with Minister Zhelyazko at the World Summit on Information Society, held in Geneva from 8 to 10 April.

Bulgaria and the Telecommunications Development Office cooperate successfully, as an example of the country’s initiatives for the protection of children in the Internet and for the availability of technologies for blind and partially ill adults.

The second joint project is to provide access to Internet in distant settlements with an emphasis on social services, said Rossen Zhelyazkov.
