More than a million videos of suspected terrorist content are shown on YouTube in the first quarter. Social Networks and Internet giants have tremendous resources to break the propaganda of terrorism into the virtual space.

The size of this phenomenon is clear from the statistics posted by Google for the YouTube video portal. Every year, the internet company spends hundreds of millions of dollars to check content on YouTube.

In the first three months, Google employees manually checked over one million videos of suspected terrorist content. In a statement released on Thursday, Google reports that 90,000 videos have been detected during a manual review, thus violating the company’s terrorism policy.

In the content review, 10,000 employees of the company participated. In March, after broadcasting directly on New Zealand social networks, the US authorities urged Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft to improve their work on deleting violent content from their networks.

In addition, the US government has asked the company to find out how many of their employees are seeking and removing such unacceptable content and how much money they spend on this activity. Facebook and Microsoft did not respond to the request.

Twitter has revealed that “a significant portion of 4100 online employees worldwide are analyzing content. Now Google has detected the information requested, 10,000 employees are involved in video verification, and the cost of this activity is hundreds of millions of dollars a year.
