Telegram intends to collect TON information requested by SEC in 5-7 weeks

Telegram representatives said it would take them five to seven weeks to collect the TON tokensale information requested by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to Inner City Press, citing Skadden Law Firm, the SEC request covers 770 individuals and companies from more than 12 countries. Since September, the company managed to consider information on only 76 objects. Therefore, to cover the entire list, Skadden will need some more time.

Earlier, the SEC requested Telegram to provide TON-related financial information. The ministry’s petition stated that the data on how Telegram and TON Issuer spent $ 1.7 billion of investment are “very important for the trial.”

The Southern District Court of New York rejected this request, but it is likely that the regulator will gain access to some of the requested information. By January 9, Telegram must provide a schedule for checking bank records so that the court makes sure that they comply with foreign privacy laws.

Recall that the trial with the US regulator caused a delay in the launch of the main TON network – from October 31, it was postponed supposedly to April 30.

Also, previously reported that Telegram does not intend to control the TON blockchain platform, which promises to be open and decentralized.
