The DJI’s new product costs $ 500 RoboMaster S1 looks like a combat robot but designed for educational purposes. Robots are a new challenge for DJI, the world’s largest drones manufacturer.

The RoboMaster S1, which looks like a combat robot, is actually the first step of a Chinese company in the education world, as it suggests the machine name – S1 comes in step 1 (step 1). Founder and CEO of DJI Frank Wang studied robotics at school explaining why in recent years the company has conducted a series of robotic battles under RoboMasters flag in China.

The new device is delivered in 46 different components and requires software training to fully utilize its potential. S1 is intended for children of 14 years and is truly a delightful little robot. There is also an infrared gun for fighting that does not involve physical shooting. There are 31 sensors on board, six of which are designed to record hits during a battle. The built-in camera allows users to control a robot in FPV mode with a special application, and the machine vision system helps the device detect obstacles and receive signals from other S1 robots.

S1 is intended for children at the age of 14. Half of dozens of intelligent features including the following mode (so other S1s are behind robots), motion detection support, S1 detection, sounds, line tracking, and visual markup for navigation.

In addition, users can manually manage the application robot. The hardware device is not designed for deep modification, as opposed to many other RoboMaster analogs, but the presence of six PWM ports on the back panel means that more advanced users can connect third-party equipment with the robot.

Scratch 3.0 and Python support allows programming functions such as fire retardation, which means that the tower automatically rotates in the direction of the attack being executed.

The robot is now available for sale at $ 499. The next month, it is expected that the company will deliver a PlayMore Kit, which includes an additional battery, a controller, and many more gel pads.
