Microsoft officially updated the base version of Surface Book 2. The new model is powered by a powerful Intel Core i5 processor of the eighth generation with four cores. At the same time, the company retains the diminished price of a dual-core Intel Core i7 chip device of 1299 dollars.

The updated device is based on the Core i5-8350U processor, which runs at a frequency of 3.6 GHz and will be available to users at $ 1499, announced TheVerge.

Other technical specifications also include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in memory, reported Engadget. It should also be noted that the Core i5-8350U configuration will only be available for the 13.5-inch display.

So far, there are no indications that this chip will be found in the larger 15-inch notebook model. Microsoft also plans to hold an event on April 17th to find out what their future plans are for the scope.

The new version of the updated Surface Book 2 will support a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels and will include USB 3.1 Type-A, USB-type C connectors and SD card reader. Consumers can expect the battery to provide up to 17 hours of recharge. Official market sales are expected to begin within a few days.
