This happened during the F8 2019 conference and also revealed some more details about the new feature.

In his statement, he identified one of the reasons for creating a new function of their desire to “reduce competition” among users actively using the mobile application.

Removing this item will allow people to focus primarily on the content they like and not to compete with others. Adam Mossery said that after internal experiments will be completed in a few days, they will allow a limited number of users to test the new feature.
