You may have photos with confidential information, gift ideas for a loved one, and so on. Whatever the reason, you can easily hide the photos from the Android gallery on your phone.

If you want to find out how to hide in the gallery of Android, do not miss using information.

1. With built-in utilities

Two major phone manufacturers, Samsung and LG, have embedded privacy tools that can help you hide your photos.

Samsung

If you have a Samsung phone running Android Nougat 7.0 or later, you can use the Secure Folder feature. It allows you to store confidential files, images and even applications in a separate password-protected area.

To set up a secure folder, go to Apps -> Settings -> Lock screen and security -> Secure Folder for the first time. You will need to login to your Samsung account. Once you sign in, your device will prompt you to select your preferred locking method.

After you have finished, a secure folder will be available from the Home screen and apps. To hide photos in a secure folder, open the application and click “Add Files”.

LG

Go to Settings -> Fingerprint and security -> Locked content. Your phone will ask you to protect the function using a PIN, password, or fingerprint.

Now go to the standard gallery app on your phone. Select all the photos you want to hide and tap Menu -> More -> Lock. You can lock the entire photo folder if you want.

When you press Lock, the photos / folders disappear from the library. To view them, go to Menu -> Show Locked Files.

2. Through the file manager

You can use the file manager to hide your personal photos from the Android gallery if your device is not Samsung or LG. Before you begin, you need to install a high quality file manager on your phone.

There are plenty of opportunities in the Play Store, just find this application that suits your needs. After you make the decision and install the file manager, load the application. You have two options:

– Create a new folder – You must create a new folder that starts with a point (for example, .PrivateFiles or .Secret). Then move all the photos you want to hide in the newly created folder.

All moved files will no longer appear in the gallery application. Without getting into too many details, this is because each folder that starts with a point is not scanned by the phone software.

– Create a .nomedia file – If you have hundreds of photos you want to hide, it’s not practical to manually move them. Instead, it is easier to create a .nomedia file in the folders you want to hide.

When your phone looks at the .namedia file in a folder, it will not load its content. To change the process, delete the .nomedia file.

To create the file, you will still need an application for managing third-party files. Use it to navigate to the folder you want to hide and create a new file called .nomedia.

3. With third-party applications

Of course, you can use a third-party application whose purpose is to hide photos. The best applications for this are: Broken, Keepsafe Vault, Hide Something, and LockMyPix.
