Gett and Farfetch Consider Implementing Gram Token Payment

Farfetch, an online luxury clothing store and Gett taxi aggregator, have discussed with Telegram the possibility of using Gram tokens to pay for their services.

This is with reference to the transcript of the interrogation by SEC lawyer Ilya Perekopsky, Telegram’s vice president of business development, according to RBC.

According to Perekopsky, the Gett CEO sent a letter to Telegram’s top manager stating the company’s interest in using Gram as a means of payment when the token is available. CEO Gett also chatted with a messenger employee in the fall of 2019.

Farfetch representatives scheduled business meetings several times, but they all did not take place, Perekopsky said.

There were other companies that expressed a desire to contribute to the wide distribution of the TON platform token, the vice president of Telegram added, but did not name any of them.

However, he emphasized that the messenger team was not looking for potential partners, considering it premature. The company did not see the point, until there is no way to demonstrate the technology in action.

Recall, on January 7-8, in Dubai, SEC lawyer Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of Telegram, interrogated him, during which he said that Gram is a digital currency, not a security.
