The difficult year for Facebook has had a serious impact on the company’s reputation. So much so that it dropped out of the Top 10 in this year’s Interbrand rankings, reports CNBC.

Interbrand rankings determine the most valuable brands by their financial performance, but also by their role in determining consumer opinions, loyalty and competitiveness.

Facebook first entered the ranking in 2012, and then came in at 69th. In 2017, it reached its highest ranking position – 8th. However, in 2019 it falls to 14th position. Interbrand says Facebook is having a difficult year, with consumer data protection issues.

In the meantime, competitors like Apple and Microsoft are progressing much better, says Interbrand. Google’s problems remain in the background as consumers see greater value in the company’s services, says Interbrand.

So it’s not surprising that Apple is the leader in the rankings, followed by Google, Amazon and Microsoft. The top 10 also includes Coca-Cola, Samsung, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, McDonald’s and Disney.
