Modern technologies are constantly changing our everyday life by facilitating communication, discovering online content, games and streaming media. Attachment to smartphones, however, hides the increased risks associated with the security of our personal data.

This is an issue that continues to be underestimated by several users and is mainly for Android smartphones due to the open platform and more free access to Google Play.

Installing antivirus software is the preferred solution, but even this does not guarantee the safety of users. A study by security experts from the Austrian company AV-Comparatives showed that many of the applications promoted in this category do not actually meet the normal privacy criteria.

Tests were conducted with 250 Android antivirus applications with 2000 known threats, and the results are quite curious.

It turns out that 138 of the tested applications do not disclose more than 30% of the threats that pose a risk to consumers, against 1400 of them. DailyStar also notes that most of the mobile apps have good ratings from many people who rated them with at least four stars.

Experts recommend using AhnLab, AVG, AVIRA, Bitdefender, BullGuard, Chili Security, Emsisoft, ESET, ESTSoft, F-Secure, G Data, Kaspersky Lab, McAfee, PSafe, Sophos, STOPzilla, Symantec, Tencent, Total Defense, Trend Micro and Trustwave. These are applications that report the best results in their tests.
