Security experts identified several serious threats compromising computer processors. These vulnerabilities are called RIDL & Fallout, Store-To-Leak Forwarding and Zombieload, and can actually cause problems for millions of users.

However, initial tests by specialists show that only these processors manufactured by Intel are affected by these new threats. The company has even expanded the patches of the computers they use.

Phoronix specialists have conducted numerous experiments to prove that the company’s security updates have a serious impact on productivity. Data show a drop in computer speeds of 16 percent.

For comparison, in performing such tests with AMD configurations, this figure does not exceed 3%. The company also announced information about its websites that allow users that AMD’s processors are not at risk of the above-mentioned threats, Ergate reported.

AMD says the unique architecture they create to “immunize” them against the problems facing Intel. The company also assured that it does not even need to provide security patches.

Intel’s problems are also linked to the fact that Google and Apple have called on users to quit the Hyper-Threading feature to ensure the privacy of their personal information.

Such action, however, will reduce the efficiency of their systems by an additional 40% -50%, which puts them in a rather complicated situation.
